The manager, Noel Ferrer, pushed out a statement on Saturday through his Facebook account that talks about the condition of the actress after she was recently confined in a hospital because of pneumonia.

“Iza Calzado received her results yesterday that she tested positive for CoVid,” said Ferrer.

He added that Calzado is recovering well “as she was aggressively treated for pneumonia and the virus.”

In fact, according to the manager, the actress can now breathe without oxygen assistance that could indicate that she is recovering well.

In addition, Ferrer said that the actress is going to be tested again to see if she will test negative for coronavirus.

Based on the report of ABS-CBN News, Calzado’s husband along with people she interacted with are also going to be screened. It is good to note that these people do not show symptoms of the said disease at the moment.

Prior to Calzado, the award-winning actor Christopher de Leon also tested positive for the COVID-19, making her the second personality in the showbiz industry to have contracted the disease.

The good news is that de Leon is among the list of patients who have already recovered from the disease and been discharged from the hospital.

In the meantime, actor Menggie Cobarrubias died due to pneumonia. He was tested for the disease. However, the results are yet to be released.

Information is scarce as to how Calzado was infected. However, before the announcement of the Luzon lockdown because of the spread of the coronavirus, she was filming her teleserye at ABS-CBN, “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” which has not yet been shown on the Philippine television.

Furthermore, it is also unclear as to when did the actress start showing symptoms of the COVID-19.
