Manila, Philippines – The 30th Southeast Asian Games, or SEA Games, is still ongoing, with the Philippines leading the medal tally, with more than 170 medals, and more than 70 of them are gold. One of the sports that the country was able to get gold was arnis, and there is one particular athlete that was in a certain spotlight.
Jedah-Mae Soriano was among the ones that was able to contribute 14 gold medals to the tally. She won her gold medal in the featherweight live-stick category, but it was not only her win that got people’s attention, as Jedah-Mae has a very strong resemblance to local actress Angel Locsin.
Angel Locsin is a famous TV and movie actress that has been in numerous shows and movies. She is most famous for having the lead role in shows like Mulawin, GMA 7’s Darna, and most recently, the lead character for the TV series The General’s Daughter.
From an article posted by ABS-CBN, Jedah-Mae said she is “happy, but a bit embarrassed” when asked how she feels after being told she is an Angel Locsin lookalike, all because the latter is a famous actress, but she also feels honored for being compared to her. She also mentioned that even when she was younger, people were already comparing her to Angel, up to the point where she is given the nickname “Angel” whenever she goes to her arnis practices.
Regardless of being an Angel Locsin lookalike, she’s made the country proud for winning gold for her category.
