Just recently, the news on JaDine breakup has gone viral on the web. The rumor even became bigger when Ricky Lo, editor and columnist at the Philippine Star, pushed out an article – with online and print versions – tackling the breakup of actress Nadine Lustre and boyfriend James Reid.
Not so long ago, the actress has posted an Instagram story slamming the columnist and denying the breakup rumor.
“First off, that was so low,” reads a part of what Nadine wrote in her Instagram post, obviously referring to the columnist along with the newspaper.
“Second, none of what you said was true and it is never okay to use someone’s mental situation/tragic past just to prove a point,” says Nadine.
She went on to say that mental illness is a “very sensitive manner.”
It can be recalled that Lo said on his report, referring to an article from PEP.ph, that the said claim was “true and not fake news.” He also added that the actress moved into a “posh Makati condo” upon leaving Reid’s home after two years of living together under the same roof.
“Was it a case of ‘too much, too soon’… too much togetherness and too soon to be living together?” said Lo in his report.
It cannot be denied that the partners have not been denying that they are living together.
In fact, there was one TV interview in which Nadine was caught saying, “It’s normal na eh. Come on, guys, it’s 2017!”
In the original printed version of Lo’s article, the columnist said: “James is handling the breakup with care to cushion the impact on Nadine who has admitted grappling with mental illness.”
ABS-CBN News reported that this part had been edited for the online version of the story.
The two were among the performers at a New Year countdown at a mall in Quezon City, with Reid saying that he was planning to spend the New Year’s Eve with Lustre.
“We’ll be all together later, celebrating and counting down over in Makati,” said Reid.
